Kaprova 8 · Prague Old Town

Krčma

Kaprova

A medieval tavern a few steps from the Old Town Square.
Honest Czech cooking, beer straight from the tank and vaulted cellars by candlelight.

About the tavern

Reopened in the year 2008

In October 2008 we reopened Krčma on Kostečná street in Prague’s Old Town. The restoration ran from October 2007 to September 2008 and we did our best to keep the original character of the rooms – the stone vaults, the heavy timber and the candlelight – while meeting today’s hygiene standards.

We cook the way Bohemia has always cooked: goulash that simmers all day, pork knuckle roasted in dark beer, and a garlic soup that gets you back on your feet.
